Don’t Wanna Worry You, but…..

….And now a little something for everyone who consistently has a nagging feeling that at any second the world is one short flap of a butterfly’s wings away from complete systemic disintegration: according to David Korowicz of FEASTA, and his most recent paper: ‘Trade-Off: Financial System Supply-Chain Cross-Contagion: a study in global systemic collapse.” that just may be the case.

You’ll need to put some time by for this one.

Very cheery. I have a year’s meat in the freezer and a season’s supply of ammo in the garage. Tony, I was amused at Bob calling you a pessimist. Ron makes you look like Pollyanna.

Bob thinks I’m dour because I try to take a clear eyed look at Islam, not the fashionable/fearful/PC/multi-culti/religion of peace appeasement of the intellectual left. For instance, see this post at Sultan Knish on the Islamic threat to the Olympics.

There is no character outside Islam. There are no rules outside Islam. There is nothing outside Islam, and that means there is nothing inside Islam either.

Athletics are meant to substitute for war, but the idea of finding substitutes for war is alien to the Islamic Spirit. The Taliban notoriously persecuted chess and football players, and when they took Kabul, they turned football stadiums into places of execution. Egyptian Salafi clerics are already discussing outlawing football. Mali Islamists have banned football, and Somali Islamists have murdered men for watching the World Cup.

To the Islamists, sports are a distraction from what is truly important in life, a contest whose lack of meaning mocks the seriousness of their preferred sport of death. As the Ayatollah Khomeini said, “There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious.” And when you are as empty as Islam is, then everything is serious.

When you are dead inside, there is no room for joy. When you have no soul, there is no place for fun. When you believe that the only rule is supremacy, then there is no room for sportsmanship.

The armies of Muslims that have gathered in Europe, whether they know it or not, are not there to play according to any set of rules, they are not there to have fun, they are there to conquer and win.

If Islam is the religion of peace, explain to me why Britain has ringed London with anti aircraft guns and missiles and has deployed thousands of troops to protect the Olympics from terrorist acts.

      • Bob says:

Simple to explain: to protect the Olympics from terrorist acts.

        • ligneus says:

Well you don’t say! That wasn’t the explanation called for, it was IF Islam is the religion of peace…….

          • Bob says:

Islam isn’t likely to attack London. Who would its leader be? Roman Catholicism could declare war through The Pope, but he hasn’t much of an army.
I think that leaves terrorists as the potential actors. As we know, it’s wise to defend against them.

          • ligneus says:

Wow, talk about a river in Egypt.

          • Bob says:

So, you believe the Muslim religion is about to attack London? Man, I hope it makes TV.
Are they coming with their Air Force or just their Navy?

          • ligneus says:

            Baghdad Bob lives!!

          • Ligneus says:

and a couple of things to think about.

          • Bob says:

I’m certainly no propagandist for Islam, or for any religion for that matter. I find religions problematic because they produce fanaticism.
I’m just as bothered by Islamic fanatics as I am with the Christian fanatics of Murfreesboro, who apparently don’t believe in freedom of religion, a cornerstone
            of this country.

These folks had the same problem with Catholics years ago. Although I’m no fan of religions, I appreciate their freedom to operate in this country…as long as they keep their noses out of my business.

    More.
    Let me reply for you:
No different to what happens here.
    The women don’t mind.
    Cabbages taste better cooked.
And other non sequiturs that miss the point.

    • Bob says:

“No different to what happens here.
      The women don’t mind.”

Wow! I didn’t know Canada was that wild.
